Routes and limits of travel

Declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, Menorca has an area of approximately 700 km2 and a coastline of 200 km2, with a total of 132 sandy beaches, coves and 65 pebble beaches.

Departing from the Port of Ciutadella, you will discover a wide variety of coastal landscapes, marine fauna, spectacular cliffs and unique sandbanks.

Our sailing area includes the west of the island, where you will see crystalline and turquoise waters, emblematic corners and secret areas where, due to their high cliffs, access by land is limited.

Leaving from the Port of Ciutadella, heading towards Faro Nati, a few metres past the beach of Calan Blanes, we find the famous platforms of Cala'n Brut. This enclave is very well known, as many young people go to this place to jump from its platforms.

Entering Cala'n Brut just to the right we find a corner called Es Clot D`En Barceló, a small cove suitable for boats like ours. Due to its strategic location, it is protected from practically all winds and is an excellent location for scuba diving and snorkelling

Next we find the Pont d'en Gil, a natural rock bridge that allows boats to pass. In this area we can anchor with caution, due to its high content of posidonia. It is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after areas on the island for watching the spectacular sunsets that Menorca has to offer.

Continuing our navigation, we come across s`Amarador, a very special spot. It is a large sandbank located in the northwest of the island. Its high cliffs limit access by land. These characteristics make this place a quiet corner for those who are looking for exclusivity. With a wide area of fine, white sand, the colours of its waters range from turquoise to the most vibrant blues. This would undoubtedly be one of the favourite places for any Ciutadella resident with a private boat. And that's not all...

Leaving Ciutadella, heading towards Faro D`Artruix, we find two beautiful coves within a kind of shelter (Cala Santandria and Sa Caleta), here we can anchor in its crystalline and calm waters, as well as being able to observe a defence tower built by the British between 1799 and 1802 with the intention of defending the coves of the island as support for the Castle of Sant Nicolau, in the face of a possible enemy disembarkation. Thus, you will be able to see a piece of our historical heritage from the sea.

It is followed by Cala Blanca and, right next to it, our special sandbank s'Aigua Dolça, a rocky area of cliffs, accessible by sea and very advisable to go by boat. This area is highly recommended for all inexperienced people, as practically the entire bottom is sand, which makes it easy to anchor. If you are a lover of turquoise tones and snorkelling, this is undoubtedly your ideal place to stay, as you will find several shoals of fish.

In short, on this route you will be able to enjoy the beautiful and varied green landscapes, as well as the crystal clear and turquoise waters that are so characteristic of our island. With the opportunity to anchor in a variety of spectacular spots, swim and observe our incredible marine fauna, don't miss this special experience to enjoy with your people!

Tips to be a good sailor

Discovering the island of Menorca on one of our boats is, without a doubt, the best option. By following these simple tips, you will enjoy an unforgettable experience in a safe and fun way, and you will be able to discover at your own pace those corners of Menorca that will transport you directly to paradise.

  1. When boarding the boat, distribute the weights. When you climb from the water, using the boat's stairs, or from land, it is important to balance the boat so that it never capsizes.
  2. Never sail or operate the boat under the influence of alcohol.
  3. Remain attentive to your companions.
  4. Under no circumstances should you have the engine running if there are swimmers nearby, or if any of you are nearby. in water. You must all be on the boat when it starts.
  5. Before dropping anchor, that is, before anchoring, make sure that you will do so in sand. You should NEVER do it on the Posidonia, since it is dangerous. protected and we would seriously damage our ecosystem.
  6. To the water ducks! First, make sure that you have anchored correctly, that your boat does not move too far from its anchoring point (it is normal for it to move, even if you do not notice it, there is always wind that moves the boat), and ONLY THEN can you turn off the engine.
  7. When you see the yellow balls, it means that that is your limit. Respect it. NEVER go beyond this sign, since from that point the area for bathers is marked. You should never access the beach with the boat, nor beach it on the sand. It is totally prohibited.
  8. A ship has no brakes. Therefore, always maintain a safe distance from other boats or obstacles.
  9. Maintain a cruising speed and do not make sudden movements. Our boats are ideal for relaxing, sailing slowly and enjoying a leisurely pace. Don't try unnecessary maneuvers. Just have fun in peace!
  10. Do not enter caves or cross gorges.

VERY IMPORTANT: make sure you know where you are at all times, and always have your mobile phone on.
NOW YES… LET'S BROWSE AND ENJOY!

Let's be responsible

We must take care of our natural environment. We all owe it to the care and conservation of the beaches, wetlands, dune systems, our Marine Reserve and of course, the conservation of the Posidonia Oceanica Prairies. Each one of us will responsibly make Menorca a more sustainable place, and we as a nautical company know the impact we can cause with the misuse of boats and lack of commitment. The main impact that anchored vessels exert on the environment is due to anchoring-unanchoring.

It is essential that you NEVER anchor on Posidonia, or any dark area, it should always be on sand.

We are committed to sustainability, to the conservation of our ecosystem and that is why we have a new fleet that is more efficient and has less environmental impact. Also our commitment to assist, guide and teach our users so that their impact on the sea is minimal with information on where and how to anchor.

Living Menorca means taking care of it!
